Preco Will Open New Plant to Expand Contract Manufacturing Capabilities

Hudson MPC FacilityA newly purchased facility in Hudson, Wisconsin will soon become Preco’s new Medical and Precision Converting (MPC) center. The new plant will increase the size of Preco’s current clean room capacity and significantly expand Preco’s capacity for non-industrial Contract Manufacturing Services (CMS) when it opens in the fourth quarter.

"To meet the growing demand for our Contract Manufacturing Services in the medical, flexible packaging and precision converting markets, we felt it was important to separate our clean manufacturing processes from our industrial processing," says Ken Arvey, Executive Vice President and General Manager CMS. "We are designing this new facility to exclusively handle any processing that requires a controlled environment, not just a clean room environment."

Jodi Cotten, who led Preco's successful ISO 13485:203 medical certification effort last spring will be Director of Operations for the new MPC facility. "This is a continuation of our 13485 ISO certification efforts," she says. "We will be deploying additional FDA and GMP requirements into our new facility as well as visual management and LEAN methodology." Arvey expects the new center for Medical and Precision Converting will be well received by existing and new customers who value plants that are solely set up for clean manufacturing.

"With these markets growing as fast as they are, we are really excited about having this new facility available to serve our customers' needs," he says. "And we can easily expand the plant on the same site to meet demand for future growth."
